Latest version.
  • (a)

A permit and inspection fee (also called a water service connection fee) of $1,000.00 shall be made for all new connections to the waterworks system. No water shall be turned on for use on or in any premises until an application therefor in writing has been made for that purpose and filed with the village clerk stating the purpose for which the water is to be used. If the applicant is not the owner in fee simple of the recorded title to the property where the applicant desires the water to be turned on, he shall deposit with his application an amount equal to his minimum quarterly bill before any water is turned on. Such deposit shall be held by the village as security for the payment of water used by the applicant and may be so applied when any default is made in payment of a water bill.

    (b)

All costs and expenses incident to the installation and connection of the building water shall be borne by the owner. The owner shall indemnify the village from any losses or damages that may directly or indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the building water. The owner shall be solely responsible for bringing the water to the existing village water main and the village shall not necessarily be responsible for bringing the water system to the owner's property line.
