§ 82-63. Vehicle noise.

  • No person shall operate a motor vehicle in such a manner as to cause or produce unnecessary loud, raucous, excessive or unusual noise by the racing of the motor or by tire friction upon rapid turning or weaving, by spinning of the wheels produced by sudden unnecessary motor acceleration from a standing or slow moving position, or by continuous unnecessary sounding of a horn or other signal device. Use of engine braking within the municipal limits of the village is prohibited except for the aversion of immediate and imminent danger. Any person who violates this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished as provided in section 1-10.
